Recently, Tolenas Winery hosted their first Blooms & Bubbles event at the beautiful Tenbrink family farm. The Tenbrink farm is located on the border of the Napa County line in the serene countryside of Suisun Valley. Tucked away from the wineries and just down the way from all the action, Tenbrink Farms is a lovely orchard and property that has been in the family for several decades.
Let's take a tour of the Blooms & Bubbles event Tenbrink Farm!

First, we were greeted with a glass of Tolenas Sparkling Eclipse. It was the perfect wine to enjoy on a sunny day in the orchard. While there are vineyards on site that produce Tenbrink Wines, we toured the orchards where Tenbrink produce is grown.

While sipping Sparkling Eclipse, we followed along as Mr. Tenbrink gave us a tour of the orchards. He explained the entire process of growing amazing Suisun Valley fruit, from soil quality to pruning.

Tenbrink Farms has over 1,000 fruit trees that are pruned and picked by hand. The Tenbrink & Howard families take pride in caring for their farm and have done so for nearly 40 years. Each tree must be pruned and thinned year-round, and the process is all hands on deck.

With so many varieties of fruit, Tenbrink Farms is a large producer for restaurants in the San Francisco area. Some of the unique varieties of fruits grown on the farm include Arkansas Black apples, pluots, doughnut peaches and an apricot-plum-cherry hybrid. All hybrid fruit varieties are grafted by Mr. Tenbrink himself.

Although there are very few fruits in season at the moment, many varieties will come available in Spring and Summer. Right now, Cara Cara oranges are in season and can be found at Tolenas Winery. Come June, the favorite doughnut peaches will be ready to enjoy as well!

Here's to an amazing Spring!
