Spring has sprung! The air is getting warm, the birds are chirping, and wild poppies are in full bloom. There's so much natural greenery abound, and the vineyards are beginning to wake up as buds break for the first time all year. It is springtime in Suisun Valley!

It's a great time of year to head outdoors and enjoy the warm sunshine. Whether you're planning your first picnic of the season, enjoying a day in the garden, or heading to the beach, I have the perfect wine for you. Today, I'm sharing my favorite Suisun Valley Springtime wines to kick off the season in style.

Wooden Valley 2022 Chardonnay

If you're a Chardonnay fan, this is the wine for you! Wooden Valley's Chardonnay is a crisp and classic chard. It's medium-bodied and full of fruit-forward flavor. This is the perfect wine for enjoying at a picnic with charcuterie.

Tolenas 2022 Rosé

Not only does this wine have a beautiful hue, but it's also a delightful rosé that's perfectly balanced. It's made of petite sirah and pinot noir grapes which lend its stunning color. It has flavors of strawberry and watermelon, making it pleasantly refreshing. The finish has subtle notes of candy. It's springtime in a bottle!

Conundrum Wines 2022 Conundrum White Blend

Weekend dinners on the patio call for a crowd-pleasing white, and the Conundrum White Blend is that and more. This blend has lots of fruity and citrusy flavor making it very refreshing on a warm spring's day. Serve chilled and pair with any of your favorite foods, it truly goes with everything!

Sea Sun 2021 Pinot Noir

Speaking of crowd pleasers, this is the red wine for everyone! It's a nice, light red with a complex flavor profile of dark fruits, vanilla, and spice. The depth of flavor makes for a pleasant experience for the senses. Visit Caymus-Suisun and enjoy this wine on their scenic patio while soaking in the incredible views of the Suisun Valley. It truly is a remarkable sight in the spring!

Now that you have your springtime wine lineup, all that's left is planning your upcoming picnic, beach trip, or wine tasting excursion. Happy spring!

The Suisun Valley has its share of hidden gems. Just off a quaint country road you'll find Tolenas, a family owned winery with local roots. The winery is surrounded by rows of vines and olive trees that frame stunning Suisun Valley views.

Tolenas winery is situated on the Tenbrink property that has been in the family for generations. The years-old oak tree in the garden has roots as deep as the family history.

There is a casual and welcoming atmosphere at Tolenas. The owners and staff are gracious and hospitable. Whether you're tasting outdoors in the charming garden or inside the barrel room, you'll feel right at home.

Tolenas boasts a solid repertoire of wines that pair well with any occasion. The varieties change seasonally, but there are a few select standards that define their catalog. Tolenas Sauvignon Blanc, Rosé, and Eclipse are mainstays for good reason. They also pour a top-notch Zinfandel, a classic Petite Sirah, and a tasty Port to name a few.

Wine tasting at Tolenas is an experience like no other. A friendly and familial feeling paired with gorgeous scenery sets a delightful backdrop for tasting phenomenal Suisun Valley wines. Tolenas encapsulates the laid back country lifestyle that is Suisun Valley living.

Nested in the heart of SV, the Suisun Valley Wine Co-op is a winery that truly lives up to its name! The Co-op has been helping smaller wineries make a name for themselves for decades. They are responsible for getting SV hotspots off the ground such as Mangels Vineyards and Suisun Creek Winery. With such a cooperative spirit, the Suisun Valley Wine Co-op is truly a friendly place!

The Co-op offers a vast array of wines from three smaller wineries under their umbrella: King Andrews, Sunset Cellars, and Blacksmith Cellars. Fah, the owner of the Co-op, is also owner and vintner of Sunset Cellars. His wines come from vineyards in Green Valley and Suisun Valley. Fah's mission is to keep the cooperative spirit alive by allowing smaller wineries opportunities to showcase their wines without having to pay the large property & startup fees.

The Co-op also maintains a friendly and familial spirit through events such as the Matcha & Wine event hosted by Fah and his friend, Junko Fukuda. Junko is a renowned Japanese pastry chef and author of several cookbooks. Her matcha tea ceremonies have become quite popular in Japan, and Fah invited her to share her talents with the Suisun Valley community. The matcha tea ceremony is a unique event that brings a mixture of friendship and cultural experience that enhances our small wine country!

Junko even brought a few beautiful, custom cookies that she made to enjoy during the ceremony!

The Suisun Valley Wine Co-op is so much more than just a winery. It is a community of friends and family. With Fah and the Co-op team as your hosts, you will feel like you're welcomed into an experience of wine and fun. Fah puts a little bit of personalization in everything he does. He even names bottles of Zinfandel after some of his wine club members. What could be more personalized than that?

On your next trip to the Suisun Valley, make sure to put the Suisun Valley Wine Co-op at the top of your list! You will be in for an amazing treat from the delicious variety of wines to the fun and welcoming environment. Kanpai!
